Matar Mushroom Dry

Ingredients

For the sabzi

  • 16 ml Sunflower oil
  • 1 g Cumin seed / jeera, whole
  • 120 g Onion, chopped
  • 12 g Garlic, chopped finely
  • 4 g Ginger, fresh, chopped finely
  • 160 g Mushroom, button, raw, washed and sliced
  • 200 g Peas, green, shelled, raw
  • 1 g Turmeric / haldi
  • 2 g Coriander seeds - whole / ground
  • 2 g Dried chillies, powdered
  • 2 g Salt
  • 0.5 g Garam Masala
  • 2 g Amchur, powdered

Instructions:

For the sabzi

  • In a pan, heat oil until nearly smoking. Add cumin seeds and allow these to crackle.
  • Add onions and saute until golden, about 5 minutes.
  • Add ginger, garlic, mushrooms, peas, turmeric, coriander powder, salt and red chilli powder. Mix well and saute on medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms and peas are cooked.
  • Add garam masala and amchur. Mix and saute for ~1 minute.

To serve

  • Transfer to serving dish. Serve hot.
